Opening Doors for Young People
For many young Canadians, a summer job represents a chance to build confidence, develop new skills, and begin exploring future career paths.
The Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program helps make these opportunities possible by connecting youth aged 15 to 30 with local businesses and non-profit organizations. These placements allow employers to offer meaningful summer positions where young people can gain hands-on experience in real workplace environments, while bringing fresh perspectives to their teams.

Local Opportunities
Here in North Vancouver–Capilano, CSJ continues to make a real difference in our community.
Last year, 75 local employers participated in the program, creating 107 summer positions for young people across our riding. These opportunities reflected the diversity of our local economy and the strength of our community organizations.
From marketing and communications roles to opportunities in the trades, education, and environmental initiatives, the program allows young people to explore a wide range of fields while gaining valuable, practical experience.
Over the past decade as your Member of Parliament, I have seen firsthand how programs like this help young people discover new interests and career paths, while giving local employers the opportunity to support and inspire the next generation.
Investing in the Next Generation
North Vancouver–Capilano is home to an incredible network of entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders who are deeply committed to supporting young people.
Programs like CSJ help strengthen these connections by ensuring youth have opportunities to learn, work, and contribute right here in the community they call home.
As we look ahead to another summer season, I encourage young people across our riding to explore the opportunities available through the Job Bank website.
When we create opportunities for young people, we invest in the future of our community. Programs like CSJ help ensure the next generation has the experience, skills, and confidence they need to succeed, while strengthening the vibrant community we are proud to call home.
